Questions and Answers

  1. What Is Your Favorite Part About Being a Photographer? My favorite part of being a photographer is the opportunity to freeze moments in time. Life moves quickly, and we can’t stop it, but through photography, we can capture memories that bring joy. Whether it’s celebrating new additions to the family or cherishing moments with loved ones who are no longer with us, I love creating images that evoke happiness and laughter. Seeing my clients’ smiles and knowing I’ve captured a special moment for them is what truly drives my passion for this art.

  2. How Do You Ensure a Comfortable Experience During the Session? I prioritize open communication to create a comfortable environment for my clients. Before the session, I encourage you to share your favorite music and let me know what you like or dislike in terms of poses or activities. I understand that being in front of the camera can be a bit nerve-wracking, and I often feel a little nervous too—it’s completely normal! My goal is to make our time together enjoyable and relaxed, so I put in the effort to create a positive experience for you. Together, we’ll capture beautiful moments!

  3. Can I See a Full Gallery from a Previous Session? Yes, you can view my gallery on my website, where I showcase a variety of sessions. If you’d like to see specific photos in person or have a more detailed look, I’m happy to arrange a viewing. Just let me know, and we can set up a time to go through the images together!

  4. How Can I Prepare My Kids or Pets for the Photoshoot? Preparing kids or pets for a photoshoot can make a big difference in capturing great moments! Here are a few recommendations: 1. Keep It Fun: Explain the session to your kids or pets in a fun way. Let them know it’s a chance to play and have their pictures taken. 2. Comfortable Clothing: Dress them in outfits that they feel comfortable in. Avoid anything too restrictive or uncomfortable. 3. Snacks and Breaks: Bring along snacks or favorite toys for kids to keep them engaged and happy during the shoot. For pets, treats can help keep them focused. 4. Timing: Schedule the session at a time when your kids or pets are usually well-rested and in good spirits. 5. Practice Poses: If your kids are old enough, practice some simple poses or expressions at home to make them feel more at ease. 6. Stay Relaxed: Your energy sets the tone. If you’re relaxed and positive, it helps them feel the same way. By following these tips, we can create a fun and enjoyable experience that results in beautiful photos!

  5. Do You Have a Backup Plan for Equipment Failure? I understand that anything can happen during a photoshoot, from equipment issues to forgotten items. I always come prepared with extra batteries, memory cards, and chargers to ensure everything runs smoothly. If the situation allows and it’s not an emergency, I can certainly redo the session or adjust as needed. However, weddings and other significant events are different, and I take extra precautions to ensure every moment is captured. My goal is to deliver the best possible results, no matter the circumstances!

  6. What Happens If I’m Not Happy with the Photos? Your satisfaction is very important to me. If you’re not happy with the photos, please let me know as soon as possible. I always aim to capture images that resonate with you, and I welcome feedback. If there are specific aspects you’d like to address, we can discuss options for adjustments or additional edits. I’m committed to ensuring you’re pleased with the final images, so let’s work together to make it right!

  7. What Should I Do If I’m Running Late to the Session? If you find you’re running late, please let me know as soon as possible. If my schedule is busy that day, I may not be able to accommodate a late arrival, which could mean missing out on your photoshoot. For outdoor sessions, if you arrive late, you may miss your opportunity for that shoot, and the deposit will not be refunded. If you wish to reschedule, there will be an additional charge. It’s important to communicate any delays so we can work together to find a solution.

  8. Do You Offer Retouching or Editing Services? Yes, I often recommend retouching and editing services. While a great photo should look beautiful without edits, smart touches can enhance its overall appeal. I believe that edited photos should still look natural, ensuring that your unique features and personality shine through. My goal is to enhance your images while preserving their authenticity, so you feel confident and proud of your portraits.

  9. What Is Your Cancellation or Rescheduling Policy? I understand that life can be unpredictable, so I strive to be flexible with my cancellation and rescheduling policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, please let me know at least 48 hours in advance. This allows me to accommodate other clients and find a suitable time for your rescheduled session. If you cancel within the notice period, I may retain your deposit for future bookings. However, if you need to reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances, I will do my best to find a new date that works for both of us. Your satisfaction is important to me, and I want to ensure we can create beautiful memories together!

  10. What if the weather doesn't cooperate? Living in Vancouver, we know the weather can change frequently, and it’s often rainy and cold. I embrace rainy days and, if my clients are up for it, I say let’s go capture some amazing shots in the rain! However, if the rain significantly impacts our session, I completely understand and we can reschedule for a later date. We also aim for the golden hour—just after sunrise or before sunset—when the lighting is beautiful for outdoor photos. Weather plays a key role in our plans, so we’ll stay flexible to ensure we achieve the best results.

  11. Do you offer prints or digital files? It depends on your preference! I offer both digital files and prints. Prints are tangible and provide a classic way to enjoy your images, while digital files are always accessible and convenient. You can choose what best suits your needs, or even have both for a complete experience!

  12. Can I Order Custom Prints or Albums? Yes, you can order your photos in any size, whether as prints, canvases, or albums. I can design a custom album tailored to your preferences and desired size. Let’s discuss your vision, and I’ll ensure your memories are beautifully presented!

  13. What is the turnaround time for receiving my photos? The turnaround time depends on the number of photos you select and the type of session. For passport photos, those can be ready immediately. Portrait session photos typically have a quicker turnaround compared to couple or family photography. Once you select your photos, it usually takes about 10 to 20 business days to deliver the final images. In some cases, you might receive them even sooner. I always strive to provide photos to my clients on time, ensuring you receive your cherished memories as quickly as possible!

  14. How do I prepare for a photoshoot? Preparation can enhance your photoshoot experience! For business portraits, I recommend having your hair and makeup done. If that's challenging for you, I can arrange an appointment with a makeup artist at my location or yours before we begin shooting. If time allows, consider bringing different outfits for variety in your portraits. Also, please share your favorite music that helps you feel relaxed or energized; I can play it during the session to set the mood. Lastly, let me know what you like or don’t like in terms of poses or activities, so we can create a comfortable and enjoyable experience tailored to your preferences!

  15. Can I choose the location for my photoshoot? Definitely! I love hearing from clients about their preferred locations. You can choose anywhere that feels comfortable for you—whether it’s in nature, in the studio, on the street, or even in your own yard or home. I’m happy to bring my lighting and equipment to your chosen location to ensure we capture your moments beautifully. Let’s discuss your ideas and find the perfect setting for your session!

  16. How long does a session typically last? The duration of a session can vary based on the type of portrait and your specific needs. Generally, a portrait session lasts about 30 minutes to 3 hours. This allows us enough time to explore different poses, settings, and expressions without feeling rushed. For family photography, we might spend a bit longer to capture various groupings and candid moments. Ultimately, I aim to ensure you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the session. If you have specific requirements, we can discuss them beforehand to tailor the experience to your needs.

  17. What should I wear for my photography session? The choice of attire depends on the type of portrait you want—whether it's for business, social media, or something else. Before the session, we can discuss your vision and decide together on the best options for what to wear or bring. For family photography, I recommend wearing nude or light-colored dresses that create a harmonious look. However, feel free to express yourself—wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident! Let me know if you need further adjustments!
