A look at before and after
You see just a photo, but behind each image, a lot of work has been done. Sometimes, photos have issues that need addressing, such as color correction, exposure adjustments, highlights, shadows, and whites. When I edit a photo, I start with the raw file in Photoshop, focusing on exposure correction. For portraits, I zoom in on the face to examine every detail. If the subject is smiling, I select the teeth to whiten them. If they are wearing makeup, I adjust the lipstick and eyebrows as needed. Sometimes, the whites of the eyes aren’t bright enough, so I enhance them to ensure the eyes stand out perfectly. If someone has acne or a wound, I’ll remove those blemishes, but I leave real beauty marks or scars untouched. I also pay attention to fixing hair and overall appearance. From my perspective, a good edit is one that makes clients feel good about their photos without any exaggerated changes.
